The Secret Life of Beasts

Picture
During the summer,  we will be telling sacred stories — but the stories will take a different shape than they have in the past. Each week we will be looking at the science (and magic) of things like the incredible wood frogs (who freeze themselves to survive harsh winters), the chrysalis (and the process of becoming goo to become something new), fungi (and their amazing mycellian network of connection), bees (and the unique way the build community), and so much more! We believe that not only humans hold the story of the Divine, but all of creation does and we will dive in to explore what creation tells us about our own processes of adaptation, resiliency, and growth.

This Sunday, Sept. 3rd, 10 am at Chapel Theater

It has been a magical season this summer, friends, as we have learned about ourselves, the world, the divine, and our neighbors through the lessons of the beasts and birds and organisms all around us.

Bees + Blessing Backpacks + Blessing the Backpacks of our Neighbors!

This Sunday (Sept 3rd) will be our final installment in our series about the secret life of Beasts, and we are going out with a bang (or buzz!). We will be learning from the wisdom of the bees (Spoiler alert, a bee enthusiast in our community will be bringing bees (safely in a n observation hive) to tell us their secrets!)

We will also be doing a blessing of the backpacks for our Storyline kiddos and youth heading off to school this week! So if anyone in your household is going back to school soon, we invite them to bring their backpacks!

AND our neighbor kiddos in our local schools are in great need right now of blessing too! Wichita center has asked if we can contribute shampoo, conditioner, and backpacks for families who need it. They are seeing about double the amount of families they normally do this year and could use some help! So if you are able to bring any of those items this Sunday, that would be so amazing!
