Vigil of Prayer
Between sundown on Good Friday and sunrise on Easter, we will fill each half-hour with prayers of the people. Rooted in the tradition of keeping vigil in church sanctuaries that rose from the practice of keeping vigil and waiting for it to be time for the rite of burial, we too sit and keep vigil together @ home this weekend. Between Good Friday and Easter morning, we're hoping that each half an hour someone from our community collective can be holding vigil space. Someone from Storyline, or Milwaukie Lutheran, or the Fransiscan Spiritual Center... all keeping proverbial sanctuary space together.
