Leadership

At Storyline, we are not centralized around a hierarchy or single figurehead. We believe there is power in the rich collective narrative and diverse voices around us, and we seek to constantly release those voices in the way we lead and operate.   This is reflected in our leadership teams which are highly collaborative, strengths-based, and live out our value to fight for relationships.

Co-Lead Pastor/Organizers

At Storyline, we believe in shared leadership!

Anna Hoesly, MFT

Anna lives in Oak Grove with her husband and two kiddos, in a house filled with  giant dry erase boards, ever-evolving art projects, a sweet cacophony of love joy and meltdowns, a revolving door of neighbors and wandering friends, stacks of half-read books and unwashed dishes, and SO MUCH slime. Anna's background is in  Marriage and Family Therapy + some seminary, and  she is a certified mediator  for families and non-profits. She gets all lit up by systemic thinking and big-picture movement-making... While  living and breathing the daily life's work of humanizing, connecting, and restoring our relationships and souls. She thrives on seeing people reconnect to their own neighborhoods and get captivated by the pursuit of justice and goodness in their own community.

Rev. Sara Gross Samuelson

Sara  lives in the Ardenwald neighborhood of Milwaukie with her husband, Josh, dog Copper and their young son. Sara has a long history working in outdoor ministry, education and performing arts. She is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,  and holds the title Reverend along with mom, wife, neighbor citizen, sister, friend, and sometimes screw-up.  She has memorized unseemly chunks of dialogue from Aaron Sorkin's productions, is openly prideful  of the Pacific Northwest and its outdoor wonderlands, and has  a complicated relationship with her book-buying habits. She's passionate about justice  for women and children and advocating for housing rights for all her neighbors and neighbors to be.
