Advent season is the time of waiting, of hopeful and painful expectation. This Advent season, we are leaning into the mess and the wonder of this season- of the mystery of God-with-us. Mess can be beautiful, exciting, terrifying, and sometimes more than we bargained for. Our invitation this advent season is to embrace that mess as we engage with the honest questions and mysteries of this season.
As a companion to this advent season, we have written four meditations to correspond with each week of Advent that we invite you to engage with each week. You can do this in a way that best suits your needs and/or the needs of your family. Which means if you don't get around to it on the actual Advent Sunday, no worries! If the best day for you to gather and do your meditation is a Wednesday at night that's fine! We also invite you to do the meditations around your advent wreath.

This Christmas Eve we will be gathering at 10 am, in-person, out doors, on the Kendrick's Farm in Oregon City, surrounded by lowing cattle, hay, and holy chaos. Together, we will sing some carols, we'll sip some cocoa, we'll eat some cookies, and we will celebrate the story of this not-so-silent-night!
