The lie of Empire is that we are alone; that we are all we need, that we should rely on ourselves for the answers, for the resources, for what we need. Empire tells us not to trust each other or anyone who is different…and that’s the most unnatural way to exist in the world.
Wonder calls that the lie that it is; wonder says, “there is more than me.” Wonder says you aren’t alone, that there is something outside of you worth moving toward, worth getting curious about, worth advocating for, worth protecting, and worth falling in love with. Wonder says that you aren’t small and powerless, but that you are connected to a great wide web of beauty and life and creativity. So this season, we will be grounding in the incredible stories of survival and creativity and connectedness, of the beasts, plants, creatures, and life unfolding all around us. We hope this season will invite you into a practice of wonder as we wonder together what wisdom the natural world might be telling you and what antidote to the lies of Empire it might be offering you?
