The Kin-dom is Theirs
Pentecost 2025
In the Christian tradition, the day of Pentecost is traditionally recognized as the birth of the church. The story we retell on that day provides us with a moment of looking at a community finding greater unity together than they thought possible. Gustavo Gutierrez describes this moment as embodying an idea that “There is no theology that does not have its own accent in speaking about God.” In our Eastertide season, we considered what it looks like to move closer to our neighbors on purpose, following the model of a God who opts into our experience. This includes acknowledging the theological accents of others.
In this new season, we are invited into listening to the accent that you carry inside of you in this playful and story-centered season!
We invite you to engage with your own inner knowing and the spiritual accents you are most needing to speak and listen to — an essential practice for learning to listen to the inner knowing and spiritual accents of your neighbors and community.
