Eastertide 2024
After Easter Sunday, the movement Jesus had started teetered on the precipice of a world transformed almost overnight. In the years to come, as they experienced oppression under the Roman Empire, that new community asked itself questions we ask ourselves now: How do we build the kin-dom of God (or, as Martin Luther King Jr would say, “the beloved community”) when it feels like our world is ending? And how do we move through fear, rather than getting stuck in the overwhelm? In this season, we dig stories of a people striving to embody resiliency, hope, community, and courage in the books of Acts and Revelation. And we explore what makes us resilient and what tools we can hone to care for ourselves and our community.
